“I’ll be back” with a Thal, near Graz, Thick Austria accent.

The phrase “I’ll be back” conjures up pretty much one image in today’s world; yes, that of the first of the Terminator series of movies in which Arnold plays different facets of machines in men’s clothing. Nighttime, wind, and electricity swirl around, and the appearance of a naked Arnie (Arnold Schwarzenegger). Frightening, but only a taste of what is to come. It seems that he is invincible and is targeting all the “Sarah Connors” in the phone book. Each one is being dispatched more violently than the last. A less robust being (Michael Biehn) also appears the same way. He, too, is seeking Sara. What is so intriguing about Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton)? Who will find her first, the police or the Terminator? What effect can the outcome have on the future of humankind? I thought Arnold’s accent added to the character of the movie. It is the way one says “I’ll be back” that adds to the threat. Even though this is the best of the series of movies, as the first usually is, you will want to watch the others for variations on this theme. James Cameron’s script borrows from two scripts that Harlan Ellison wrote for the original Outer Limits series, “Demon with the Glass Hand” and “Soldier”.
