The war to end all wars was not fought by man, but machines. An AI named the Megaverse defeated its children and rival, the Differentialists, who sought to wipe humanity from the earth. Humanity now is all but extinct. The world they wander is flooded, over-heated, poisoned, and barren. The Megaverse has orchestrated humanity's last hope moving what remained into vast underwater cities, placing most of humanity in stasis tubes at the bottom of the sea. But for the humans left wandering the wastes in the grave that is now the earth they struggle, mostly alone and starving, wandering out of a violent past towards an uncertain future in a barren waste today.
