Great Book but could use a better ending

This book is about a boy, Karl Kerner and his family. They live in the steel-mill town of Cannan PA. As the story goes on, Karl starts to grow up,and even,gasp,fall in LOVE!! This book is filled with twists and turns that will keep the reader on the edge of his/her seat. Although this book could use a better conclusion.
