Missing a basic starting step

I wanted to buy a book in order to have the detailed steps on how to initially wrap a ball before starting the designs, then to also have an assortment of designs to try. As far as the pattern assortment, this looks like it has a lot of pretty designs. However, I am concerned about the lack of correct information for starting the ball. A temari ball is supposed to be wrapped in multiple layers to give a lot of padding between the stitched design and the styrofoam core. These layers normally include batting, yarn, then a thick layer of thread. However, this book just has a thin layer of regular sewing thread which is not very secure to hold the top stitches in place as well as being very uncomfortable and difficult to stitch into without breaking down the styrofoam core. Due to this important initial missing step, I am less trustful about the accuracy of the rest of the steps in the book.

I received this book promptly and it is an interesting book on Temari with lots of patterns and hints. It is just what I was looking for.

Well worth the price

This book offers clear, easy to understand directions, great photos, and helpful tips and tricks into the world of temari. I have several other books by different authors and this is by far one of the most helpful of all! This book is well worth the money and great for beginner to intermediate temari makers.

I loved it!

I was completely new to temari when I found this book in the bookstore, and I fell in love in an instant! I have worked a number of the patterns, both simple and complex, and have had no problems at all. I especially like that there is such a variety of patterns to choose from, some other books out there will only give you less than 10 patterns per book.I would absolutely recomend it!

Fantastic book!

I think Anna's book is the best one out today. She shows so much originality and has wonderful new applications of old designs. Her explanations are a bit difficult because they are different from all the other teachers, but I think it's much easier once you catch on to her terminology. For example, an "8 complex" in other books becomes a "6 centers" in Anna's. I followed her directions on 5 balls and had no trouble at all - the directions were extremely accurate. Beginners should start at the beginning and work their way back - rather than just flipping through the book and picking one they like. The complexity increases as you go through the various sections. Her's is the only book I open now! Congrats Anna - you've done a wonderful job!
