i LOVE this book!

This book is awesome! It is the perfect book for the Wicca teen. I strongly recommend it for any teen trying to get together their BOS. There is also a really cool section that lists the different forms of divination. Love it!

MUY BUENO!

this is the first book on Wicca i ever bought and it taught me so much. its greta for beginners who arent sure where to start or people who want to understand The Craft a little more. with everything from explanations of what a Book of Shadows is and what kidns of stuff to put in it to what Wiccans believe and tips for talking to your parents about it, this book is awesome.

FInally a book that treats teens like real people

not once does this author talk down to Teens (which leads me to believe the last reviewer was just plain lazy - there's nothing here that's difficult to read, that doesn't make sense, or poorly written... unless of course you were looking for Charmed style magick in a book). I, for one, am thankful to have been given good ideas on how to deal with parents (this hasn't been easy for me or many of my friends). I'm also thankful that when adults look at this book, they don't see unintelligent rants on turning your boyfriend into a toad (no matter how much the guy might deserve it). Telesco has given Teens a tome with which to grow and move forward in responsible ways, and not made a lot of errors previous writers have made when dealing with the teen market. Thank YOU!

This is a great book!

I picked up this book from Indigo a couple of days ago (my first book on Wicca, although I've also been gathering info from the Internet over the last few months) and have read it through a few times -- it is fantastic! She includes a lot of information on many different subjects (candles, tools, feng shui, divination, astrology.....) which is what drew me to this book in the first place. Also I like that she talks to teens like *TEENS* and not as tiny little children (I am fourteen in about a month and a bit), taking care to acknowledge that we, her readers, are fit to take responsibilty and that we know what is good for ourselves (...mostly). The only problem I have with this book, is that she seems to skim over a couple of things -- only briefly going into the Sabbats and Esbats. (Each Sabbat has its meaning, etc., described in about two-three short sentences, and that's hardly sufficient.)But besides that, is it worth getting? Sure is -- but don't make it your only resource. ;)

Aspiring Wiccans Will Love This Book

This book is extremely helpful for those interested in Wicca and the Craft. It gives you tips on how to tell your parents of your interest and how to answer the questions they'll have. It also gets you started on your Book of Shadows. Telesco gives you a few sample spells and rituals to get you started and to put in your Book. She also includes information about your star sign, such as "Aromas That Accent The Positive", "Love, Family and Friendship", "Power Colors", "Body Tips", "Clothes and Jewelry" and "The Future". She also includes a chapter on "Bedroom Feng Shui". There's also information on how to create your own spells. There are spells for relieving anger, calming your nerves before a class presentation, and many other helpful spells. I, personally, loved this book, and am planning on reading Patricia Telesco's "Your Book of Shadows" next.
