Following a long and hot summer holidays it is time for Jack, Charlie, Peto, Sam, Robbo, Jess and Sully to start their secondary schooling at Weerap Tech School. Success in the local summer fun run elevates Jack and Sully to hero status from the start. New teachers and new friends lead to a bright start at Tech school.

Then the Backroad Boys feel the dark shadow overhanging this school for the first time. Three of the older boys spend their time picking on younger students and harassing the teachers. There is a sense of frustration when members of their group are targeted because there appears to be nothing they can do about it. How can the Backroad Boys turn the tables and bring the light back to their new school?
