The Teacup Dragon Sanctuary

By Jessica Thorne

Book Overview

p>Every lost soul can find a home on Starling Island...

When apothecary Portia Starling clashes with the Academy, she knows exactly how it will end. With her family's notorious reputation, someone has to take the blame -- and it's going to be her. So, reluctantly, she retreats to Starling Island - a place she hasn't considered home in years - to await news of her future.

Noah Turner has always dreamed of travelling north to study the great dragons of Elanholm. However, as a vet with no magic, funding his research feels impossible. But when an opportunity arises to help at Iris Starling's dragon sanctuary, he can't afford to turn it down. If he can prove himself there, he might finally reach his dream.

Portia and Noah immediately dislike one another. Noah assumes Portia is an entitled Academy poser, collecting dragons as a trend, while Portia finds him bossy and overbearing. But with the lives of the poor, sickly rescue dragons on the line, can they see past their differences?

Charming and delightful

This is a wonderful cozy read. And I really like that the FMC is strong, independent, and yet has flaws. She isn’t waiting for someone to save her all the time or becomes someone else because there is an attractive man around, as in some books. Love how she keeps moving forward even when she feels her world is falling apart. She has an amazing, even though a bit unique family. The idea of a world of teacup sized dragons is amazing and as someone who has been involved animal rescue, I adored how passionate Portia is about saving the little dragon that comes into her life, and how the family is devoted to rescue and care of the teacup dragons. Story is steadily paced and characters well developed and, I just enjoyed the journey of the story. Was like wrapping in a cozy blanket after a hard day. I hope to read more of this world. Arc read
