Great Points

The book contains great points that are worth mentioning. The first is asking; How are you going to pay for your sin? Certainly, the author proceeds to answer this question in a profound way. The second point is "what people think of the Lord Jesus Christ." The book explains in detail the different views associated with how people perceive our Lord Jesus Christ. Great work and easy read. -Michael ShafikThe Teaching of the Master
A Rich Resource of Jesus Teaching

The Teaching of the Master Foundation for Christian Living By Dr.Nadia G. Boctor In her book, The Teaching of the Master: Foundation for Christian Living, Doctor Nadia Boctor presents a clear, thoughtful and well researched analysis of Jesus' mission to humankind and his transcendent capacity to effectively and persuasively communicate God the Father's message. A biblical scholar herself, Dr. Boctor's careful parsing of Scripture --- along with the cited viewpoints of other scholars --- presents the reader with a clear road map to the requirements of Christian living, spiritual communion and salvation. The book's focus, however, is not only on the Master's message and his personage, but --- and this is not surprising in that the author is herself a teacher --- on the techniques and styles of communication Jesus used to reach his disciples and the followers to whom he preached. Taken together chapters two and three demonstrate how Jesus Christ's teachings always built into people's lives principles that transcended and endured the existential moment --- the quintessential example of which is the Sermon on the Mount. It showed further how he accomplished this by using different literary formats, poetic devices, and styles, e.g., beatitudes. The book's rendering of the numerous teaching devices employed by the Master and examples of each is one of its more compelling and enlightening aspects. The reader will also find particular relevance to today's world in a discussion of Jesus' dictum that humankind can not serve two masters, wealth and God, and that a rich man has as little chance of getting to heaven as a camel has in passing through the eye of a needle. At a time when the world's economy is facing collapse because of the greed and avarice that has insinuated its way into human behavior, this practical and spiritual advice seems particularly timely and appropriate. Dr. Boctor has put together an extraordinarily ranging and instructive book that is short, concise, and poignant. It is a must read for any Christian seeking direction and/or a refresher in the foundations of Christian living. It will be informative as well for others who may be interested in the essential elements of the teachings of the Master and in the way in which they were conveyed. Reviewed by Frank Petrick
