How many books have you read in your lifetime that were honest about the details? How often have you researched a subject only to think later on "Damn, I wish I had known that from the start!".
What if there was a book with the courage to speak to you directly, to warn you about the dark side of teaching in Japan? Wouldn't that be pretty cool?
If the answer is yes then look no further. What you will have at your disposal is a red pill that will wake you up from any delusions about the abuses in this line of work.
The cycle has always been the same. A foreigner comes to Japan to teach English, his hopes and dreams are to become fluent and fully integrated in this culture. As time goes on, he realizes day by day that this work seems to prevent him from breaking out. It is only after a few years that he can finally swim through all the lies and coercion to properly focus on his goals.
I say we must break that cycle by being frank about the worst that could happen. Let us not pretend to be naive in a system that has been built to take advantage of foreigners.
Let us wake up from that nightmare to turn our dreams into reality!
