The Tall Stranger

Jean LaBerge has been awarded a land grant in the Ohio Wilderness. He leaves Vermont and travels west to claim his land. While traveling in a flatboat along the Ohio River he meets the lovely Hannah Cody, who is on her way to Kentucky with her parents. When they leave the boat, Laberge warns her father of unsavory men he has observed in the camp. They go their separate ways and Hannah, and her parents are abducted by these men and held for ransom. When Laberge learns of their fate he immediately turns back and rides to their rescue. However, the sudden appearance of an aristocratic, British Loyalist woman, forces him to make some difficult choices.

The Tall Stranger is a tender love story, which is filled with twists and turns of fate, and a variety of characters, as it unfolds in the Ohio Wilderness of Revolutionary America.
