The Tale of Seymour Slime

Selfish, rude, un-caring and completely obnoxious to all who knew him. This was what everyone in the garden thought of Seymour Slime the slug. Soon though, his awful character gets him into deadly trouble and he finds out that being horrible has consequences. The question is will he learn from his mistakes and change his ways? This little illustrated story book is a moral tale, told for young children to ponder over and amuse in equal measure. Carol Barnes was brought up in Ealing and now lives in West Sussex, a retired printer and reprographic worker. She is a full - time carer for her elderly mother and loves her garden (when it's weed free and tidy) The garden has two ponds where she loves breeding Great Crested Newts, toads and frogs and anything else that makes their home in them It was while walking her dog and contemplating her next gardening job, that the idea of a troublesome slug came to mind. Robert Kew is an extraordinary person. Suffering nearly all his life from mental health problems, his talent for sculpting and drawing have never been fully recognised because of his debilitating breakdown. He has in fact published his own fantasy adventure book called The Moogem Tree which of course he illustrated. This is about a fantasy world that he retreated too as a child when reality became too traumatic. Carol is delighted, thankful and very proud that Robert agreed to illustrate her book for her.
