The Tale of Bobby Bobolink

By Arthur Scott Bailey

Book Overview

Everybody, that is almost everybody, liked Bobby Bobolink. His neighbors in Farmer Green's meadow enjoyed his singing. And they thought him the merriest neighbor they had ever known. He was even cheerful to look at. For with every bright day that passed, Bobby Bobolink's feathers took on a brighter and more vivid hue. The truth was that the yellowish tips of his youthful feathers were wearing away, leaving him a very handsome suit of black, set off by a generous patch of creamy yellow on the back of his neck, and with just enough white on his back and shoulders to make a most jaunty and lovely costume. And so the adventures begin as Bobby Bobolink encounters the other creatures living in the meadow in Pleasant Valley. Short chapters are ideal for bedtime reading. Original story with soft lessons by Arthur Scott Bailey and illustrated by Harry L. Smith, this wholesome Vintage Collection Edition is presented for a new generation of young readers and for little hands to hold and to love. Recommended for ages 4-8 years old.
