Not great writing

I was super excited about this book, but the writing is so back and forth/internal dialogue. Literally every sentence is “can I trust him, BUT he’s a guy so I can’t. BUT he saved me, BUT I’m a syren so I should drown him. BUT he is nice to me.” I live enough overthinking everything that I don’t want my books to be like that.
