After Carson Brash witnesses his ex-girlfriend kissing Anthony Marino AKA "The guy she told him not to worry about," he bites his tongue and freezes time at midnight for years - tipping the balance of the multiverse, forcing Death P.D.'s hand.
Tongue Biters are a Symptom of Life - humans with God complexes who are stuck in the past, immortals that only Death P.D. can stop. Yet when Carson is faced with Death, he is not met by a foe, but rather his "Biggest Fan," in Martin Virus - a psychotic, multiple personality disordered Death P.D. officer who would do anything in his power to save Death from this disease we call humanity, while ensuring that Carson gets the chance to live in the present once more.
