Military spy Roa has to flee from the king. On an island that doesn't have magic, she is in possession of a sword that the king wants. A magical sword. With the help of the Shadow Island rebellion, Roa tries to hide the sword and evade capture.

When Prince Teo hears about the hunt on Roa, he goes after her. The rebellion, notoriously hard to get in contact with, might hold answers to the questions he's been too afraid to ask for the past seven years. Questions about his brother's assassination and the king's true motives.
