The Swarm War: Rise and Ruin in the Xylos Expanse

By Jason Thomson

An ancient breach has reopened. The Kryll are no longer the apex predators of the galaxy-they are its bait.

Commander Xylar, a hardened tactician of the elite Kryll swarmforce, stumbles upon a buried Vault that shatters everything he knows. Within its dying echo lies a fractured reflection of himself and a memory long erased by Architect design. When he emerges, he carries a glyph no Kryll has borne for generations-and a haunting message: You become the breach.

Across the Xylos Expanse, harmonic ruptures spread like wildfire, tearing open the Stream that binds reality. Entire fleets vanish. Minds unravel. And deep within the stream's pulse, something alien stirs.

As the Kryll war machine buckles under pressure, Xylar goes rogue, leading the Crimson Corsair into deadspace in search of a hidden system wiped from every record. There, among the spiraling ruins of Architect power, lies the Spiral Throne-a construct designed to shape the course of evolution itself. But awakening it may come at the cost of identity, history, or even species.

Hunted by his own kind, haunted by echo-memories, and torn between the logic of war and the unraveling truth of the Architects' final experiment, Xylar must decide whether to preserve the Kryll legacy-or rewrite it.

What began as a war of survival has become a war of memory, myth, and meaning. And the Architects are not done with them yet.

In this high-stakes, galaxy-spanning sci-fi epic, ancient technologies collide with biological destiny, and the line between enemy and ally dissolves. Perfect for fans of Mass Effect, Warhammer 40K, and The Expanse-The Swarm War is a brutal, immersive journey into the heart of a forgotten war... and the beings who started it.
