My first child, a 2-year old beautiful boy has Spastic Cerebral Palsy.

Nothing prepared us for this special gift. It came to us as a rude shock and we had to learn to embrace and appreciate his uniqueness as he grows. Of course, it came with unique challenges: Psychological strainFluctuating Emotional outburstHuge Financial commitmentPhysical rigour and stress
But the greatest of this challenge is the societal stigma that comes with raising a special needs child. And this weighs down the parents who are already energy-sapped. They feel guilty, trapped and sometimes they sob and ask the difficult question:

'WHY ME?' - often looking at their child as a form of punishment or curse from God.

This is why I have written this MANIFESTO and poured my heart out to every parent who is raising a special needs child; to hold you by the hand and walk your journey with you.
