More than 15 years after the horrors of the Battle of Powat, Laxis Dymon struggles to find meaning in life without the possibility of regaining her beloved Sallis. Life in the swamps of the far north has seen her abandoned by both man and the gods. Battling inner demons, Laxis is called to action once again by the child Sholaa, Goddess of Death. Unbeknownst to Laxis her ancient enemies Iban-kar, God of Chaos, and his daughter Wyo have summoned the original source of evil, Qruita the Snow God, to destroy the world of mankind and everything in it.
Laxis must journey from her swampy home to find not a way to stop the destruction at hand, but also make peace with the goddesses she hates so much and find peace within herself or be at risk of losing everything she holds dear.
