Once there were four realms, and a season for each, perpetual and unchanging. The fall veteran Commander Lord Versos lives in pain and regret at the Traveling Court of his realm. Brought against his will, the Commander finds himself helping two unlikely lovers, a taciturn Hinterfrosten pirate and the Sumnayan princess beloved by her people, to prevent the next sacrifice. In order to foment an uprising, he may have to defeat a god.
