This collection of short stories describe bits and pieces of the life of Peter Baum, from his striving to be a mediocre Little Leaguer to trying to hide the truth that he was a math prodigy. As an adult, he found his way to card counting at blackjack and developing an alter-ego to avoid detection and play with his dark side. All the while, there are the humorous struggles as he tries to navigate the world of women and dating.

It sure Does look good on the outside.

Could you imagine feeling confident, and at ease babbling about a period in time as a dull youth named pe te Baum - ? He wants you to believe his story.Let’s begin his journey towards being a stronger man and the best version of himself I guess he is a 59 year old trapped preteenie mind. Reading this you may want treatment for anxiety, or substance use, to fix his disorders and trauma they may rub off you just by reading. Baum needs help both mentally and with his yarn of a story. His writing is not good entertainment. This book overall highlights the lack of emotional, interpersonal, and social health. Surprisingly publishing something this embarrassing was important decision to reveal “ I am card cheater”? Baum’s dating shows that finding the right fit really doesn’t matter— he’s selfish and a narc. His boring life can be complex for no reason except his writing is that bad. It can feel like its is coming at you from several directions at one time. Sometimes in his poor story telling it is not so clear as to where the challenges are stemming from, but they are there he’s not wrapped too tight. If you are looking for a fun story about summer and finding love, you won’t find anything but frustrating anxiousness. I can’t find a nice way to put it - collection of so/so stories by an alleged Genius.
