The Sugar God's Smile

By Matthew Petchinsky

In the forgotten ruins of an old bottling plant, something sweet still stirs. It began with whispers from vending machines. Then came the smiles-too wide, too perfect, and dripping with syrup. People started drinking from unlabeled cans that appeared overnight. The soda was cold, nostalgic, irresistible... and once they drank, they changed.

Now, the town of Churnell grins in unison. No more frowns. No more fear. Just fizz, laughter, and eyes that no longer blink.

Nora, a hospital worker running on exhaustion and instinct, is the last one to resist. As soda machines spread across the world and televisions begin broadcasting the jingle that ends free will, she must unravel the truth behind the so-called "Sugar God"-an entity that sweetened sin, bottled souls, and sold eternity one can at a time.

But this god doesn't want worship.

He wants distribution.

The Sugar God's Smile is a chilling descent into brand-based possession, media manipulation, and flavor-infused madness. Once you taste, you belong. And once you smile... it never fades.

He's fizzy. He's sweet. He's always watching. And now... he's in you.
