I don't know what to do. Hemgrove only has so many villagers. Why couldn't my laboratory be set up near a thriving city or a prosperous town? That would have been the wise thing to do. But no, the backwater village they set me up by only has three hundred inhabitants. Well, seventeen less now but who's counting?

And if I have to hear one more excuse why they can't find me another subject to test my formula on, they will be the one strapped to the table. To hell with them and, for that matter, to hell with Hemgrove. If I must sacrifice every last inhabitant of that decrepit village to achieve my dream, then that is exactly what I will do.

Nothing is more important than my formula and nothing will stand in my way. Not some pesky constable, not the Guard, not even my masters at the Consortium. I will be the one to unleash everyone's potential and they will praise me for what I truly am. The creator of the greatest formula known to man. The creator of... the Sublime.
