The Stupidity of "I WISH": The grass is always greener on the other side.
Have you ever looked at someone else's life and thought, "I wish my life were like theirs"?
Every day, a hardworking donkey watches the sheep on the other side of the fence. They seem to have everything he wants: time to eat, play, rest, and enjoy the green pasture.
But what looks perfect from far away may be very different up close.
When envy leads the donkey to follow a foolish piece of advice, one decision changes his life. Years later, a young donkey named Lucky encounters the same fence and begins to discover a lesson the old donkey never fully understood.
The Stupidity of "I WISH" is a modern animal fable about envy, gratitude, honesty, wise choices, consequences, perspective, and second chances.
Through an engaging farm story, young readers are encouraged to think about:
- Comparing themselves with others
- Appreciating what they already have
- Thinking before following someone else's advice
- Understanding that choices have consequences
- Learning from mistakes instead of being defined by them
- Balancing hard work with rest
- Remembering that we rarely know another person's whole story
The book also includes discussion questions for families and classrooms, making it especially suitable for shared reading and conversations between children and adults.
Because sometimes the grass only looks greener on the other side because we cannot see the whole field.
