An excellent book on the topic of studying

This is a classic book in the since of learning 'what' to do in mastering studying techniques. The reader will learn a method, which will enable an individual to take proper and effective note taking skills on various materials. The techniques can (and should) be applied in both a school and career setting.Hanau's style of writing is lucid, with a flavor of humor thrown in every now and again. There is no doubt I will use 'The Study Game' for my present and future studying endeavors.Word to publisher - you should re-publish this book again!

This book literally changed my life. In my third year of college, I was desperate. My writing was going downhill fast and I needed help. A friend of mine recommended this book and it changed my life. Not only did it help me organize my writing, but it succeeded in organizing my thoughts, and helping me to formulate clear, lucid arguments. Now, over 20 years later, I still cherish this little book. PLEASE reprint it! Having done my thesis on teaching writing, I can honestly say that it is clearly the most practical book out there!!!

The BEST Study-Method book EVER written

I picked this book up many years ago, in my last year of college. Oh! the hours I have wasted! This book explains how to take notes, simply, organized, and completely. Then it tells you how to use those notes in such a way that you NEVER will forget and never have to "cram" for a test. This book made me recognize, on going back to my college texts, that, not once, did I ever underline the right [correct] things. And the method is so simple you can get straight A's and still PARTY!All communications is composed of a statement, followed by Proof, Information, and Examples. Take notes accordingly. Reread yesterday's notes, all last week's notes, all last month's statements, all last year's statements, and you will have it for life. The rereading part never takes more than ten to fifteen minutes a day. But, you will remember everything forever!

Please, please, please reprint this book!

I chanced upon an old and much-thumbed copy of this book in a library in India. It was and is the best book I have seen on studying, not just for students, but for anyone who needs to 'master' (understand, organize and retain) a large amount of information. The operative word here "understand". It helped me in cutting through the chaos of my research notes. The joke is, it is written for School kids in a very simple and humorous way and I was using it for doing my research! But I am not ashamed: the author was employed (by Harvard Medical School?) to teach Medical students study skills!This books teaches you how to take notes, how to use the spatial layout, ... words fail me! Trust me when I say it is a FUN book with a lot of power packed in it!
