The Student-Athlete Journey enlightens athletes to use their sport as a vehicle to achieve their goals - before, during, and after college. The book is centered around providing a framework for athletes and parents to not only navigate the world of college recruiting, but also, shed light on often overlooked topics. Broken down into three sections, readers first dive into what it takes to play college athletics, how to succeed once in college, and how to move on after college. In a market that is saturated with recruiting agencies, for profit club teams, and many other people without the student's best interests in mind, the focus of the Journey is to lend a fresh perspective. The book will cover the importance of academics, financial aid, relationships, and finding the best overall fit. The book is written by me, a former student-athlete who, at the age of 26, has navigated not only the recruiting process, but is in the midst of navigating the real world. From a small town in Colorado, I played basketball in prep school in New Hampshire, Division 1 in Portland, and Division 3 in California. I have applied to over 30 schools, spoken to over 50 coaches, and researched 100s of schools in my time. Now, after 4 years in the real world, I am back involved with sports working for adidas. In addition to the book, the website has a plethora of resources and touch points to give the readers more information. The website is thestudentathletejourney.com
