Fantastic book of general world history!

I read my dad's 1940's copy of this book from a college professor. It was a wonderful, simple explanation of the biggest events in world history. Anyone who wants a basic historical overview of many of the most significant global events in human history should start here. I still have this book & have recommended it to many.
