The Story of Joseph Frank Dubicki

Joseph was born in Cielechowszczyzna, Poland, in 1937. His early childhood was brutally interrupted by World War II. When he was six years old, he and his family faced a firing squad, their home was burned, and they were sent to a slave labor camp in Germany. After being liberated at the end of the war, he and his family spent the next four years living in displaced persons camps throughout Germany.
Joseph's father set his sights on America and waited until immigration opportunities arose. The Dubickis immigrated to America when Joseph was 12 years old, first residing in Uvalde, Texas, before settling on a duck farm in Brookhaven, New York. After Joseph graduated from high school, he briefly attended college and then served in the Air Force, first as an enlisted airman and later as an officer.
In 1963, Joseph married Kathryn Krenek. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he and Kathryn settled in Vanderbilt, Texas, where they raised their two daughters and Joseph worked in agriculture and volunteered in the community until they retired in Lafayette, Louisiana.
In The Memoir of Joseph Frank Dubicki, Joseph recounts a lifetime of memories.
