Grey came to the mountains for quiet.
A few days alone in the woods with Rook, his bonded Kindred, were supposed to be simple-cold mornings, long trails, and enough distance from everyday life to finally breathe.
Then the footprints appeared around his camp.
The voices started in the trees.
And when a violent storm forces Grey and wildlife officer Dana Mercer toward the only shelter for miles, they find a remote lodge known as the Still House.
At first, the people inside seem welcoming. A little too calm, maybe. A little too interested in Grey and Rook. But beneath the warmth and hospitality is something older, stranger, and far more dangerous than either of them understands.
Something lives beneath the house.
Something that can borrow a voice, distort a memory, and make people see things that were never there.
As Grey, Dana, and Rook descend deeper into the Still House and the abandoned mine below it, they uncover a hidden cult, decades of impossible records, and a creature capable of tying human minds together long after death.
Soon Grey can no longer trust his eyes.
He can only trust Rook.
And whatever is waiting beneath the Still House already knows his name.
