Such exciting topics as Marker Genes and the forthcoming ability to identify problem genes can help breeders around such problems as cataracts, PRA, hip displasia and a host of other genetic problems. Learn how puppy play is really a training for the real world. Learn how to recognise potential behaviour problems and how important it is to be able to select from temperament.
Dr. Grossman writes a very thorough book that is filled with good content. Many things that we know but need to be reminded and many things that are new (at least to me). Really enjoyed reading his work. Helped focus my objectives on how to begin a successful breeding/showing program.

I particularly recommend the thorough reading and appreciation of the first chapter. Those who have sufficient experience will appreciate and endorse the many points which are made upon the early stages of ownership and the requirements of breeding.
