An entertaining spy story

This is another in Marc Lovell's Appleton Porter series. This "caper", as Apple refers to his assignment, takes place mostly in Scotland where a film crew is making a movie on an estate which is also home to a mysterious, secret government lab. Apple's mission is to expose the freelance spy who is using the movie as an opportunity to penetrate the highly sensitive facility. Apple's amusing cover is based on his role as "handler" for his dog which has been given an important role in the film. As in previous Appleton Porter episodes, the awkward spy falls in love, stumbles into unlikely situations, and, more or less, accomplishes his mission.
