An Excellent and Exciting Novel

As I read The Spirit of Chatsworth Mansion, I found that I could never put it down. I could not help but love the characters, for they are so easy to relate to. The the mystery in the story is absolutely thrilling, and the suspense kept me up and reading late at night. The charm and wit in Coleman's writing is hard to resist. A definite must read for both children and adults!

A Delightful Read

This book is fun! The author's style is engaging from word one. Coleman captures the persona of the fourteen year-old hero to perfection. The plot moves, the descriptions are vivid, and the characters are real. This is a great gift for young readers - a delight for all ages.

Page Turner

Coleman's book clipped along for me on a windy night--just the right atmosphere for this adventure/mystery story that's also about growing up. The characters are real and attractive (except the one's who are really mean!), and the ending is great. I'll be passing my copy along to other members of the family.

A fan of Alice Coleman's writing

It is always a pleasure to read a book aimed at a children's audience that is both literate and entertaining. Alice writes with great wit and empathy. She captures Tim's adolescent voice to perfection as he solves the mystery of Chatsworth Mansion and navigates a new community and new friends. The reader cheers for Tim at the end with the mystery solved and the attentions of a certain young lady won. Three cheers for Alice as well. Adults will particularly enjoy her descriptions of Saratoga Springs, New York, a charming Victorian town at the foothills of the Adirondacks.

I love this book!

This was a great book! The characters were completely realistic, and the situation is creepily cool. It is great as any genre of literature, and the writing was fantastic. DEFINATELY one of the greatest books I've ever read!!!
