An Archive of Early Writing brings together poetry, prose, and short fiction written by Gillorie between the ages of 11 and 18, with each piece accompanied by newly created visual imagery that reflects and extends the writing.
The collection preserves an important early body of work while creating a contemporary presentation of it. These writings capture the development of a young creative voice and the early foundations of a multidisciplinary practice shaped by writing, imagination, perception, sound, and visual storytelling.
Together, the original writing and newly created visual works form a literary and visual record of an early creative life-preserved from the past, reencountered in the present, and given a new dimension through image.
