Painting a vivid and honest picture entirely from his perspective. His father being imprisoned, relationship with his mother is shaky at best, older brother being killed by police are experiences that have shaped his perspective. With the successes and highs of life in addition with all of its trials and tribulations, Khaliq uses poetry and wordplay to exhibit his gift, embrace life, and to get away from the pain.
