Historical narrative of revival in the Mississippi valley, particularly the frontier town of St. Louis, Missouri. Reveals the trails and trials of America's frontier missionaries as well as gives... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This is a wonderfull overview of the history of revivals in St. Louis. Due to necessary space constraints, it's not as in depth as one would like. But a volume on each revival would probably still not be enough for those of us who get excited about these things. The book is written from a fundamental Bible believing point of view. For those of us who trust in Christ alone, and believe the Bible is true and accurate from cover to cover there is no problem. If the above does not describe you, then you most assuredly will be put off by the authors stand. Regardless of denomination or stance on side issues, this book glorifies Christ and tells of the work of the Holy Spirit in this city during the age of the great revival campaigns. It is exciting and fascinating to see the trials and victories of God's men in my hometown. Even if you're not from St. Louis but have an interest in the great evangelists this book is for you. It is definately worth your time and money.
"Book of the Year" says KJSL radio station

I heard the author of the Soul of St. Louis interviewed several times on this radio station. The announcer raved about the book and noted it as the "Book of the Year for St. Louis." I have read the book and couldn't agree more with the radio announcer. This book is truly rich in history and writing. The first chapter grabs your attention and keeps it until the last chapter. This book is written about church history and revival taken around the 1800's ending around the 1930's. It is truly rich in history and writing. A very well documented bookMy heart was stirred as I read the different accounts in history. The Soul of St. Louis is written with passion as well as informative.I would recommend this book to anyone looking for history, revival information or just interested in good reading.
