This book taught poets how to weave a narrative guided (with discipline) through the subconscious. It is one of the most arresting books of poetry I have ever read. Quirky, somewhat confessional, always formally surprising, Steve Burt was right to peg him as one of the seminal figures of the so-called elliptical poetry movement.
