A bilingual book of poetry with two goals. First, the author introduces a new sonnet form to add to the English (Shakespearean), Italian (Petrarchan), and Spanish sonnets called The Puerto Rican Sonnet, in honor of the island where he was born. Secondly, the book also honors through poetry the Ta no natives of Puerto Rico who were decimated by Columbus and his men who primarily were in search of gold. It is a short story that of the Ta no natives and the author tells the story in his series of poems. The bilingual reader will benefit most being able to read the poems in both Spanish and English.
