When He first created man,
I have never believed He did it because man felt lonely.
I believe it was something more like Aloneness-
a sacred quiet meant to be shared, not cured.
Adam, as I understand him,
was both masculine and feminine-
the full reflection of God's heart,
much like the image of Jesus.
But God split Adam,
or drew out the femininity already within him,
so that Adam could love more deeply
and see with his own eyes
what he once held inside.
She-Eve-was everything Adam already carried within himself.
God simply revealed her beside him,
with her own body and her own eyes,
yet woven from the same soul.
They were made to love each other
as deeply as God first loved them.
Never to feel separated from one another,
or from Eden,
or from God Himself.
I believe God wanted to grow with them on earth
while He was in heaven-
to live with their heart,
to walk with them in spirit,
to feel their joys and sorrows
through the love He placed inside them.
The same love He breathed into the heart of Jesus.
