The Soldier's Crown: The Veil of Kings and Gods
A prince was trained to defend a kingdom. Now he may have to rule it.
Bremyra stands on the edge of war. Its king and heirs remain absent, the northern kingdoms are falling silent, and old alliances are beginning to fracture. Prince Patrick has spent his life preparing to command soldiers, not wear a crown, yet every unanswered message and gathering army draws him closer to a throne he never expected to claim.
While Patrick struggles with court politics, military duty and the future of his sister Elana, another danger is taking shape within the kingdom.
Simion, a magician of the powerful Order, is recovering from a poisoned ambush that should have killed him. An ancient sealed book has begun responding to magic no magician should be able to wield, while the strange Echo bound to it whispers of forgotten powers, the fall of an ancient age, and a darkness that has never truly vanished.
Far to the north, War Leader Týrnan Valgrim watches discipline give way to cruelty among the Njorvik tribes. His High Chieftain demands further conquest, sending warriors towards lands they scarcely understand, even as something darker appears to be feeding the violence spreading through the northern host.
Kings prepare for war. The Church guards its secrets. The Order watches from beyond the authority of any crown.
And beneath the struggles of princes, magicians and warlords, the buried history of ldorra is beginning to stir.
The Soldier's Crown is Book Two of The Chronicles of the Spiral Realms, an epic high fantasy saga of political intrigue, warring kingdoms, ancient magic, divine mystery, forgotten empires and the terrible cost of power.
The crown may decide who rules Bremyra. What is awakening beneath the realm may decide whether any kingdom survives.
