The Sock Monster
Do all houses have a sock monster? All of the ones with children sure do. But don't you fear. They aren't dangerous to people or pets; they only eat your socks. They never eat both socks in a pair; they leave one behind. Sock monsters are very elusive, have never been captured, and are usually sighted only by children with keen eyesight and a vivid imagination. So if you keep your eyes open and your mind sharp, you might see the sock monster that lives at your house. If you do see him or her, remember they like natural fibers much better than synthetic blends, and they don't care whether the socks are clean or dirty. They also love socks of all colors and sizes but seem to prefer the socks belonging to small children. As the children grow older, the sock monster may decide to move to a new home where he can sample fresh socks from his new family.
