Set in Mao's China during the Cultural Revolution that lasted 10 years from 1966 to 1976, The Socialist Cuckooland is a political thriller largely based on the author's personal life experiences in those miserable years in China. The main character in the story, Barry Lee, has one top priority -- how to escape socialist slavery, but the Communist system has shut down every possible way out. Nevertheless, either by good luck, or by his effort, or by the good blessings of Providence, he makes it to the Free World and becomes a millionaire.
