The Snow-Capped Robin

Recently widowed Jane Beattie is finding life lonely without her husband, Tom, by her side. They spent forty happy years together and now she feels there is nothing left to live for and is on the verge of giving up. Christmas is approaching and the trees are laden with snow. She watches as the snow-capped robin bravely battles the elements for survival; something stirs in her - she is inspired by the bravery of this tiny creature and decides to get on with her life. The events which follow lead to an awkward encounter with Billy, a boy from the orphanage. However, with the passage of time, Jane and Binny find a common ground in which the snow-capped robin plays a major role. Billy pursues his dreams and becomes prominent in his chosen profession of ornithology and appreciates the support Jane gives him.
