What looks like bad luck may turn out to be the beginning of an unexpected adventure.

Seb the snail and his gran, Jan, are perfectly happy munching lettuce in their garden-until the gardener arrives and carries all their favourite food away.

Jan fears the worst, but cheerful Seb reminds her that things may not be as bad as they seem. Together, the two snails set off in search of something to eat and find themselves climbing mountains, crossing oceans and tumbling into one surprise after another.

Inspired by the classic Chinese fable Sai Weng Loses His Horse, The Snails and the Wheelbarrow is a warm, playful story about uncertainty, resilience and looking at life from a different perspective.
