A must read for any small business owner/manager

In the interest of full disclosure, Tim Gase was a student of mine in our Executive MBA program (If we had known how much he was learning from us we would have charged him more). This is an impressive book in which Tim shares his insights (along with those of over 50 small business owners/managers that he has interviewed). In it, Tim presents over 101 approaches to cost reduction in the small business environment. He also presents compelling arguments explaining why every small business owner must aggressively but carefully control costs and build a cash cushion enabling them to deal with any unforeseen future crisis. It is a well-written, easy read that should easily justify the time spent reading it.

Cost Saving is a Culture

Tim has captured the essence of how to create a cost saving culture in any organization. Some may say the advice Tim provides is common sense but Tim presents it as applied common sense. This is sound advice that can be applied in any organization and implemented by an informed and motivated workforce. If you want employees to both understand and implement effective cost savings make this required reading.

He provides excellent, thought provoking checklists which can be applied right from the book. This is a must read for small business owners who need methods to look at their business expenses and ensure that they are maximized the return for every dollar spent!

Great down to earth, easy to read book

As a small business owner, I found this book very worthwhile. I found many practical suggestions that I will implement. It was written as one business owner speaking to another, not a professor giving a lecture.
