I had never heard of this book or the author. My sister bought the book for me for Christmas, and I put it aside for several months, but the description on the back sounded intriguing. Despite many copy editing errors and, later in the book, a few grammatical wrongdoings, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The many characters are vivid and true-to-life, the mysteries are compelling, and the descriptive passages are extremely well done. I hope the author continues to write.

Mr hicks has a sure hit, I had'nt read a book cover to close in a long while, I was intreaged when i read about the book and his book signing in parsons, Ks. The book sounded intressting and being from S.E. Kansas and personaly knowing meth makers and meth heads i wanted to see how well he know what he was writing about he seemed to have researched it well enought sounded close to the truth and its ugly effects and the way these fools act while makin and using. The story played out real well and keep me reading tell it was done. Great Job G! It was nice meeting you on the 21st. And again thanks again. (owe you a million) Tim

I'm amazed that Dane got a second book out. Congrats. I was an understudy to him while he was just a newspaper publisher, now as a accomplished writer (buy his first book a damn fine effort). Of course I'm hoping that he will publish my first book, "College and what I didn't learn" will be in stores in weeks to come. But I grew up on his small town commentary and have worked for Dane, he has a command of the English language that is rarely seen these days.
