The Sinister Life of Dolors Pahrott: The Screenplay

By Drew Simpson and Daniel Simpson

KDP Book Description

A son searching for truth.
A family haunted by silence.
A mind at war with itself.

The Sinister Life of Dolors Pahrott is a dark and deeply psychological literary drama that explores memory, mental illness, family trauma, faith, betrayal, and identity against the backdrop of postwar North America.

After receiving a letter from the father who abandoned him decades earlier, Dolors Pahrott is forced to confront the fractured history of his family-and the unraveling state of his own mind. Haunted by schizophrenia, failed relationships, religious guilt, and obsessive thoughts, Dolors journeys through memories of psychiatric hospitals, Cold War paranoia, failed marriages, political disillusionment, and encounters with mysterious figures whose motives remain uncertain.

As his search for meaning deepens, the line between reality and delusion begins to blur.

Set across decades shaped by the Kennedy assassination, postwar immigration, institutional psychiatry, and cultural upheaval, this haunting novel combines literary fiction, psychological suspense, and philosophical reflection into a disturbing portrait of inherited suffering and emotional exile.
