Hidden from the world beneath a shimmering cloud lies tiny Overmist Island, where the silver leafed Wissen trees chime out messages and warnings only Dove, a Silverkiind can interpret.

When the people of Overmist awake to find a breach in the mist exposing Overmist to the outside world, they turn to Dove for help, but the trees have fallen still and silent. Even worse, pages are missing from the Great Book, which holds the secrets to the island's past, present and future. If they're not found in eleven moons Overmist will be destroyed.

Dove and her twin brother Rayfe set out in search of answers. They discover an evil plan to destroy the island. Yet there is a ray of hope. With the help of an unexpected friend, they come up with a scheme of their own to save Overmist before time runs out.

It's risky but it's their only hope. Will it work? If not, Overmist and all its inhabitants will sink forever to the bottom of the sea.
