Excellent Coming-of-age book

The Silver Desoto is an excellent book about a young girl who is caught between the small-time life during the depression and the Hollywood - characters she worships. Vividly portrayed are the people and friends she knows who are in high school and the lost loves and the consequences that occur. If you can get this book, read this book. It is worth it!
