The Silk Route of Contemplation is a book which consists of dialogues between the characters on Yogacara philosophy. It is the sequel to two earlier books, Prasannashila and Virincivatsa. The book elaborates the Yogacara doctrines propounded by the philosopher brothers Asanga and Vasubandhu. It is an attempt to understand the fundamental doctrines of the Yogacara. The setting is the Silk Road, the famous route of Asia along which Mahayana Buddhism spread. The characters in the book discuss philosophy as the ride across deserts and climb high mountains.
