Truly memorable and confidently recommended reading

The Short And Tall Of It is the testimony of Donna Lancaster, a woman who, due to a congenital defect, was born without knees, lower legs, or hip joints. Yet miraculously, Donna learned to walk. During her junior year in college, Donna had the opportunity to wear artificial legs that made her 5' 8"... for 32 years, a troubled marriage, a divorce, and the loss of both parents. Then Donna came to reevaluate her life and her choices. Now retired and speaking at 12-step meetings and conventions in the United States and Canada, she tells her story in a frank, open, and matter-of-fact tone. An inspirational, intimately personal autobiographical account, The Short And Tall Of It is truly memorable and confidently recommended reading.

BRILLIANT AUTHOR!!!

THIS BOOK IS GREAT! IT MAKES YOU COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS AND LAUGH AT THE SAME TIME. PLUS I RECOMMEND IT FOR READERS BOTH YOUNG AND OLD. READ DONNA LANCASTER'S "THE SHORT AND TALL OF IT" TODAY!!!

Gifted Writer

I agree with your brother when he said that you are a gifted writer. You are! Your use of our language is clearly of high caliber. My writing coach used to say, "Write your message in such a way that the reader can get your meaning without mental strain. Let your sentences flow. Cut out unnecessary adjectives yet go into enough detail to make your meaning clear."You have done that so well. Your "reaching back" into your memory bank is nothing short of remarkable. I loved your use of humor. It did not distract your reader, but gave pause for a chuckle. No circumstance seemed too much to be overcome and through which the human spirit could expand and even soar. You have written an instructive and inspiring book. I wish you much success with it. Billye Jones, Author

Great Wisdom

Thank you so much for sharing your life and great wisdom in The Short and Tall of It. I enjoyed reading it and felt a kindred spirit to many of your emotions. Thanks most of all for the wisdom of an aging body and changing energy which we must accept to move on and enjoy this part of our journey!

Lancaster Soars to New Heights with a Loving Memoir

This memoir is as compelling and as uplifting as Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes. Using the third person provides the reader with an objective point of view. The reader is pulled right into the narrative. The love and respect Donna has for her parents is written with great love and affection. While she is able to describe the trials, challenges and adventures of her life, she is able to make past experiences relevant to today's inner conflicts, what makes us all humans.
