THE SHINING CHEST: 6 SELF CONTROL

Gavin is a nine year old boy, who hated everything in his life that seemed to be beyond his control. He was moved away from his friends and his house near the ocean to a small town where he was forced to start his life over with none of the people or things he left behind. Things he loved to do and people he loved to hang around. Kylie is the first person he met who is near his age. She lived next door to Gavin and was a happy, smart, and carefree seven year old girl. Kylie's personality annoys Gavin, but Kylie dismisses her new neighbor's attitude and won't leave him alone. That annoys Gavin even more. One day Kylie pushed her way into Gavin's house and ran up the stairs. Gavin hated that he had to run after her to get her out of his house. And get her out of his life. But Kylie wanted to show Gavin how cool his new house was. And how fortunate he was to live there. She had told him that his new house was the only house in that small town with a cupola. And that cupola turned out to be a room that reminded Gavin of the top of a lighthouse, which he had loved in his previous town. The town which he hated to leave. Kylie annoyed Gavin even more when she danced around the cupola. She was a girl who annoyed him with all her happiness. Until they see a SHINING CHEST in that upper room called a cupola in Gavin's house. And little did either of them know what that discovery of that SHINING CHEST would bring to their lives. Opening the SHINING CHEST revealed a pile of sheet music. Kylie was not impressed by the contents, but the sheet music intrigued Gavin who played piano. He saw that the musical notes on the sheet music were clear, but the words to the song were blurry. He wanted to know the words. Kylie saw Gavin holding the sheet music and attempted to grab it from him. With both Gavin and Kylie holding the sheet music Gavin suddenly said, "I wish I knew the words to this song." Then BOOM! They were transported back in time. Stunned by the transport to an unknown place and time they were eventually given a riddle to solve to go back home. Smart kids knew a riddle required clues to solve it. So they walked about and sometimes ran about to collect clues. They collected clues by what they saw and observed in their unfamiliar surrounding. They also collected clues from people they would meet. And only when it seemed that all the clues were collected they were transported back home. Once the kids arrived back home in the cupola they realized that no time had passed in the present while they were gone. They also saw that THE SHINING CHEST had disappeared. However, Gavin took the collected clues and wrote them on the sheet music to replace the blurry words. He noticed that the riddle with all the clues turned out to be a lesson Gavin needed to learn to turn his hate into love. And that sheet music had changed Gavin's character for the better. But, was the troubled nine year old Gavin finished changing his character for the better? Would THE SHINING CHEST appear again? There was more sheet music inside...
